Ingredients

Everything you need for this preparation

  • Double Trishul Rawa 1 cup
  • Sugar ¾ cup
  • Desi Ghee 4 tbsp
  • Water 2½ cups
  • Saffron strands 8–10
  • Warm Milk 2 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder ½ tsp
  • Cashews, chopped 2 tbsp
  • Almonds, sliced 2 tbsp
  • Raisins 1 tbsp

Cooking Steps

1 Soak the saffron strands in warm milk and keep aside.

2 Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan and add cashews, almonds and raisins. Sauté until lightly golden. Remove and keep aside.

3 In the same pan, add Double Trishul Rawa and roast on low-medium heat until fragrant and lightly golden.

4 Meanwhile, bring 2½ cups of water to a gentle boil in a separate pan.

5 Slowly add the hot water to the roasted rawa while stirring continuously to prevent lumps.

6 Cook on low heat until the rawa absorbs the water and becomes soft.

7 Add sugar and mix well. The mixture will loosen slightly as the sugar melts.

8 Add saffron milk and cardamom powder. Cook until the halwa becomes thick and glossy.

9 Add the roasted nuts and raisins and mix gently.

10 Serve warm, garnished with a few saffron strands and sliced almonds.
